    2. Colleen Lill
    3. Can anyone tell me if they know if there were any Primitive Baptist Churches in Greene Co during the 1840's? I have a Wheeler ancestor who was a member of the Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Roane Co TN about 1845. This same family of Wheelers later moved to Greene Co and later Indiana. Tracing by church membership might help to break down some brick walls. Thanks, Colleen Lill

See the 1830 Greene Co., TN census for Abm. Vice, 216--00110001 - 00121001. 1840 census finds him as Abra. White. Family tradition has it that Abraham's father's name was Henry Vice of Pennsylvania, and the 1790 PA census does have a Henry Vice and Abraham did name his second son Henry.

Surnames: Wilson, Gunn, Willis Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/1754.1.2 Message Board Post: Well, this may be the Wilson line I am looking for, but not sure at all. My ggg grandfather, John Wilson (b. 1806), married Keziah Willis. They were both born in NC but later moved to AL. They moved back to NC when John Wilson learned he was ill and didn't have long to live. They had 11 children, I have 9 names. The main reason I am looking at this line is that at that time it was extremely common for sons to name their first daughter after their mother. My John Wilson's first daughter is Huldah G. Wilson (b. 1/27/1836). It could be the G stands for Gunn though and the Sherrill would not match up. If you have any info that you think might fit, please let me know. Thanks in advance. 1. [TNGREENE] parents of John Renner of Greene Co. TN
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Renner Neas Detemore Welty Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4330 Message Board Post: I believe the parents of John Renner who married Elizabeth Neas in 1791 in Shenandoah Co. VA can be deduced from records in Bucks Co. PA and Shenandoah Co. VA. Connections with Neas, Detemore and Welty families seem to suggest that John Renner is from Bucks Co. PA were all three families just mentioned can be traced to. The only Renner family that I can find in Bucks Co. PA is that of the emigrant Veltin Renner of Dannstadt Germany. See Annete Burgert's book "Palatine Origins of Some Penn. Pioneers". The sons of Veltin Renner are John, Jacob, Peter, Henry, Adam and Michael according to his will. It can be shown from birth records etc. that the only son who could possibly be the father of John Renner is Henry Renner who with wife Elizabeth had a son Michael bp. 16 April 1775 at Keller's Lutheran Church in Bedminster twp Bucks Co. PA. I believe John Renner was born Dec. 4, 1767 according to his gravemarker - is that correct? Now Henry and Michael Renner both appear on the 1766 confirmation list with Joh. Walte at Tohicken Reformed Church in Bedminster twp Bucks Co. PA. John jr. son of John Welty and Anna Maria the daughter of John Renner were married in 1816 in Greene Co. TN and there first son was named Henry. I believe Anna Maria also had a brother named Joseoh H. (Henry?). The name Henry seems to be significant in the Renner family from what I can tell. By the way there was a Joh. Roner in Iggelheim near Dannstadt in 1721 who was from Mellikon Canton Aargau Switzerland. This is on the Rhine river in northern Switzerland. I believe John Welty's family may also be from Canton Aargau. I believe the name Renner also appears as Rynor and Roner in Bucks Co. records. Has anyone found info that either confirms or refutes this deduction?

Surnames: Lonas Lohnes Lones Mumbauer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4329 Message Board Post: I have found some records on the Lonas family that migrated to Greene Co. TN about 1802 form Shenandoah Co. VA. I believe Adam who was married in VA in 1796 was born 14 Oct. 1771 to Georg and Anna Rosina Lohnas and bp at Christ Evang. Lutheran Church in Trumbauersville Bucks Co. PA. This agrees with the 1789 will of George Lonas in Shenandoah Co. VA. I believe from other records that Georg was one of four sons who emigrated with his parents Georg and Catharina Elisabeth Lones. The sons I believe were Joh. Adam, Peter, George and Leonard. Adam and Peter appear in records at Germantown Ref. Church and at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Red Hill Montgomery Co. PA. Georg appears in records at Milford twp Bucks Co. PA before he and Leonard moved to VA about 1772-1774. In Hacker's book "Eighteenth Century Register of Emigrants from Southwest Germany" there is an entry for Johann Georg Lones wife and 4 sons from Persbach Rheinland-Pfalz Germany in 1751. I cannot seem to find that village. Does any one know where that place is? There is a Porrbach and a Potzbach that sound similar. Other families that may have connections are Mumbauer of Baumholder Germany and Scheid. Any help would be appreciated.
