He married Susan WOODS at Rogersville, Hawkins County, Tennessee, in 1862. Isaiah enlisted in the 60th Tennessee Mounted Infantry and was captured at the Battle of The Big Black River, near Vicksburg, in 1863. Records state that he died at Fort Delaware and is buried at Finn's Point Cemetery. This is incorrect since he survived the prison camp and he and my g-g-grandmother had four children born after 1870. The people at Finn's Point cannot explain why he is shown as being buried there.

I've received a few emails asking for more information regarding the children of Michael Trobaugh. So, I'm posting the earliest information I have on the family for those interested. Please let me know if this has been helpful to you. Theresa (Ashley) Kingsley _________________________________________ Henrich Von Trarbach First Generation 1. Henrich Von Trarbach. He had the following children: 2 M i. Henrich Trarbach Jr.. + 3 M ii. Wilhelm Trarbach. 4 M iii. Honts John Trarbach. Second Generation 3. Wilhelm Trarbach (Henrich Von) was born 1664 Prussia/Germany Wilhelm married Eva Margretha Vipers (Veipers). They had the following children: + 5 M i. Johann Michael Trarbach Third Generation 5. Johann Michael Trarbach (Wilhelm, Henrich Von) was born about 1700 in Hirschfeld, Bernkastel, Rhineland, Prussia and was christened on 31 Mar 1700 in Kleinich, Bernkastel, Rhineland, Prussia. He died 1771 in Cordones, York, PA. NOTES OF DOCUMENTATION FOR: JOHAN MICHAEL TRORBAUGH 1700/1771 CHISTENING: Data found in the records of the Evangelical Parish of Kleinich. Salt Lake Film #0489851, pg. 341. IMMIGRATION: MICHAEL TRARBACH (DRORBAUGH,TROBAUGH), sailed to this country aboard the ship Patience, captained by Hugh Steel. The ship originally departed from Rotterdam, but then put in at Cowes - a small town on the Isle of Wight - so that all male passengers over the age of 16 could swear allegiance to King George III of England. The ship arrived in Philadelphia on Monday, September 9, 1751, carrying 255 passengers including Michael, J. Adam and Jacob Trarbach. Many sailing vessels made the trip from England to the colonies every year. Prior to the Revolutionary War, only British ships could land legally at American ports. German immigrants went from a continental port (usually Rotterdam in the 18th century) to a British port and then across the Atlantic. Technically, a sailing "ship" was a three-masted, square-rigged vessel. The Patience was a 200-ton ship with 8 guns and a crew of 16. She made annual runs to Philadelphia from 1748 to 1753 (except that in 1752 the destination was Annapolis, MD). Upon arrival in Philadelphia the 109 male passengers age 16 and over were taken to the City Hall to "take and subscribe the usual qualifications before the worshipful, the Mayor". As many of the immigrants were unable to sign their own names, clerks would write the names, spelling whatever they heard, following which the passenger would"make his mark", usually an "X". Several copies of the 1751 passenger list exist, and all contain the names Michael, J. Adam, and Jacob, with the last name spelled in different variations of TRARBACH or DRARBACH. (The Trarbach Family History Newsletter, March 1995). LAND-PROPERTY: In 1768, MICHAEL TRARBACH (TROBAUGH) owned over 200 acres in what is now Springfield Township, northwest of Jacobus. Records list the property as CRUM WAFER, a possible misspelling of GRUMM WASSER, German for Crooked Water, which describes the Cordorus Creek as if loops through the property. (Apparently in old German script, a double "s" could be written to look like the letter "f".) The oldest son, J. Adam, owned an adjacent property which is listed as BERRICK AND DAULE, again a possible misspelling of old English words meaning Hill and Valley. The Cordorus was later dammed to create a reservoir, Lake Redman. This makes it difficult to locate the exact boundaries of the property today, but it appears to be very close to the present site of William H. Kain County Park. (The Trarbach Family History Newsletter, March 1995). WILL-PROBATE: MICHAEL TROBAUGH died in 1771 leaving an estate of several properties but no Will. The actual probate documents are in the York County Courthouse. There is an inventory of all his possessions and their appraised value. Among these items were a double-barreled gun, a side saddle, a spotted heifer, and many tools and farm implements. (The Trarbach Family History Newletter, March 1995). CHURCH-CEMETERY: Although the family was known to have attended Friedensall Lutheran Church, Michael's final resting place is unknown at this time. Perhaps the family cemetery lies beneath the waters of Lake Redman and will never be found. (The Trarbach Family Newsletter, March 1995).
