I have been looking for years for more information on Sarah White and Joseph Gass. They are my great-great grandparents. Their daughter, Lucinda, b: August 1868 in Greene Co., TN married Marion Smith. They moved to Indiana in the early 1900's. Their 3 daughters and 1 son were born in Greene Co., but my grandfather, Roy Clifford Smith, was born in Indiana. Can you confirm that Lucinda was one of Sarah White and Joseph's daughter? Do you have any information on Sarah White's parents? Do you have any information on Marion Smith's parents? I was told that his father was "Francis Marion Smith", but no other information or proof. Marion Smith, I believe, was also born in Greene Co., TN. Any information or suggestions for me to further my research on these families would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. Viki

However, I do have a suggestion or two. There's another Greene Co. website hosted by the former host for Greene Co. and if you look through her files under Family web pages I think it's called, you might find something. The address is: http://www.genealogyforyou.com/usa/tennessee/greene She has a lot of information and I'm sorry she quit and took all of it with her. Also, go to Usgenweb.org and use the TN search engine for the name Miller in the ARchives section, and/or use the State search engine on the opposite side of the page under States/ then counties and Greene and just type in the word Miller. You will get a lot of files.
My main 2 surnames from Greene co- are- METCALF & LOONEY- Do have ties with- Ricker- Johnson and Jones- to name a few- anyone- with connections- please write! trish
Thank you...Very Much , Trish !! The map of the U.S. allows you to click on a state. Then when in that state, there's a small state map that can be clicked, which will expand to the counties. And will print on one page. Absolutely great ! A lot of states I've visited on the web do *not* have a feature like the counties map - and if I am doing some long term research in that state, I always seem to need a state map with its counties on it at my fingertips - so I print it out.....and that's what this is for the whole country !!!
