    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4081.1.2.1 Message Board Post: Viki: I am not a genealogist and can't confirm that Lucinda Gass was the daughter of Joseph Gass and Sarah White by any documents except the Pioneer which is where I believe I found the data and is the publication of the Greene County Genealogical Society. Nor do I have any data on her husband Marion Smith or his father. I believe Lucinda first married Col.George Britton and had a daughter Bonnie, then married your ancestor Marion Smith but I have no dates. Here is what I have on Joseph Gass and Sarah White. Joseph I Gass (1821-1901or 19l0) married 3 times, first to Nancy Catherine Malone (1812-1872) in 1841 and they had l child, John Marion Gass b. 7/15/1852. He married 2) Nancy Lane (1836-bef. 1866) on 3/31/1861 and had Sarah Jane 1/4/1861 and Susannah 1862-66. He married 3) Sarah White on 10/11/1866. Children of Joseph and Sarah were Margaret b. 6/22/1869, Lucinda b. 1870, William Harvey (Buck) b. 6/10/1872, Jacob 1875, Isabella (Ibbie) 11/10/1876, Joseph R. 11/10/1878, Laura 5/1880, Charles H. 2/28/1882. [Sarah White was the daughter of Jacob White and Rebecca Thompson who m. 11/21/1833 and had Sarah and John on 2/1842, Susan, Eliza, and Isabella.] Joseph I Gass was the son of William I Gass (1786-1847) and Nancy Carter Reynolds (c1790-1860) who m. 5/30/1811. Their children were: Sarah b. 1818, Mary Ann (Polly) b. 3/1819, Joseph I b. 1821, William II b. 1824, John M. b. c.1826, Alexander b. 1829, George b. 1831-33, Nancy b. 1835. [No information on Nancy Carter Reynolds' parents.] William I Gass was the son of Jacob I Gass from Ireland and Mary Unknown from Ireland who married before 1781. Jacob was born about 1750-60 and d. 1799. Their children were Jane b. c. 1781, William I 1786, Margaret 1790, Jacob II 1795, Sarah 1796, Susannah 1798 and John M. c. 1800. I am related through Joseph's lst wife, Nancy Catherine Malone whom he married in 1841 and she was the daughter of William Malone (11/11/1781 3/24/1844) and Mary Polly West (6/26/1784 d. aft. 5-10/1828 and they married 3/31/1803. I won't go into the Malone line any further right now since you are not related to that line and it is a lot of data.

I have been looking for years for more information on Sarah White and Joseph Gass. They are my great-great grandparents. Their 3 daughters and 1 son were born in Greene Co., but my grandfather, Roy Clifford Smith, was born in Indiana. > > Can you confirm that Lucinda was one of Sarah White and Joseph's daughter?
