Old age and health things interrupted my family history work, but am wondering if you ever resolved if your ancestor was a brother of my apparent gg grandfather George Hays? I always kept you in mind as I continued researching but didn't find anything substantive to report. Got interested in my Robert Rodgers Hays and the Civil War impact. In the process, uncovered a few more things. Will be glad to resume exchange of information if you wish. Thanks again for your invaluable help in sharing the cemetery information. Merry Christmas. Almira's brother-in-law, John GREER, married Annis F. HOOD in 1837. Annis was the sister of my ancestor, Daniel Ragan HOOD (they were children of Nathaniel HOOD and Abigail RAGAN). You're correct - Almira KEY married Arthur GREER III as his second wife in 1852. His first wife, Mary A. McCONNELL, died 1843-1850 (she wasn't alive for the 1850 census). I don't know anything about them other than that. Did Almira and Arthur have children? Arthur died in 1868. Did Almira remarry after that? Do you have any census listings for them? I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but it is nice to find another "cousin." Vickie Elam White

Elizabeth and John would have been my 7th generation grandparents. I found a Eilizabeth Sevier listed in the Sevier Family in Greene County, and daughter of Valentine Sevier, but there were no dates of her birth and death or who she married. If anyone has info on the Bowman and Sevier Families of Greene County I would love to share what information I have on the families. Thank You Sharon

Robert Cathers), Sarah C., b. 1880 (unknown what happened to her, persume she died at an early age), William Thomas Rudder, b. 6 Apr 1881 (md. Ethel Tincher) 1870 Laurel Co Census shows Tempe Rudder (age 44) with the children you previously mentioned however I've been told that Tempe's name was transcribed in the wrong household, instead of #40 he was in #41 which lists Rudder, Thos.(age 45) with Lewis (age 9), William McCarty (ag 65) and wife & children of William McCarty. If the heads of households were not switched is it possible that Thos. L. (listed with Tempe) might be Thomas Louis? Hes listed as age 8, which would put him at being born in 1862. Can you help me with this? Thanks so much.

From the strong English family presence, including Andrews, in Greene County, TN I believe that was his birthplace. I have not however found him in any of the 1850 or 1860 census data.
