    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/4215.3 Message Board Post: Just found some information on John Maloney. He was born c. 1750 Ireland (of Scots Irish descent and was Presbyterian) and married Nancy Elizabeth Unknown. Their children were: Hugh b. 1792, Robert b. 1784, John Jr. b. 1791, and William b. 1796. Except for Robert, the men spelled their name Malone. Other possible children of John Maloney were Joseph, William, and a widow Temperance --all in the right age range. Two of John Maloney's sons married Coopers; Robert (who was Andrew Jackson's tailor friend) married Catherine Cooper and William married Lydia. John Maloney and Nancy Elizabeth also had three known daughters: Margaret (Peggy) b. 1787 Frederick Co. Va who married Jothan Brown Jr. in 1807, Elizabeth, and Jane who married Christopher Cooper Jr. in 1822. Robert and Catherine's children are not all known but they did have a son John Maloney who took over his father's tailor business. In the 1830 census Robert had 6 sons and 5 daughters. Robert's father John may have come to Greene- ville with a brother William. Named in Robert's will are Valentine, Robert, Mariah and John and unnamed other daughters. Two sons could have been William A. b. 1823 and Thomas b. 1837. Two more daughters are believed to be Elizabeth Jane b. 1832, and Nancy A. b. 1835. Hugh Maloney and Susana Sevier who died giving birth had Mary Jane who was raised by his sister Jane "Jenney" Maloney Cooper and was married to Christopher Cooper. William Maloney maried Lydia Cooper on 3/23/1822. He was son of John. He was considerably older than her being 50-60 and she being 40-50 and children are not known but one might be William Jr. Both William and Lydia were dead by 1840. Hope this is helpful. I found it in The Christopher Cooper Sr. Family Biographies of Greene County, TN by Stevie Hughes email: Stevie1302@Aol.com.

Try emailing Don Miller at the Cox Genealogy Library in Greeneville to see if there is a marriage license. He's at dmiller@ ggcpl.org. He also might have some other suggestions. Since we know there was a George Ward or two in Greene- ville, you might try looking for Henley's. The former host of Greene County left and took all of her files with her. They are at: www.genealogyforyou.com/usa/tennessee/greene Look for the Family websites and then just go through them to find the Henley name. I don't know if its there, but it might be.

TN Marriage book who married Mahala Matthews on 8/6/1835 with John Fry and Pleasant A. Witt witnesses. And another George Ward who married Martha Barnet on 10- 20, 1851 with George Little and John Maloney JP. I do not find the woman's name in the marriage book at all. You might try several things. Go to Usgenweb.org and then use the National or State Archives Search Engine, and just type in the name Ward or the name Henley and see what comes up. Also, go to Usgenweb.org and then to the County pages and I think there's a search engine. Another idea is to go to Rootsweb.com and type in the names you want and see what comes up. Good luck.
