Surnames: Click, Pritchett, Russell, Jones Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ihB.2ACI/3834.2 Message Board Post: I 've only just begun my search for a Lizzie Click (b.KY) and who married James Pritchett (b. TN) but I don't know dates or places of the rest of her life, marriage or death. Lizzie and James had a daughter Nancy who was part American Indian-this is very obvious in photos, but I don't know which parent shared the same heritage. Nancy Jane was born in TN in 1833, married Joseph Jones in 1850, and died in MO. If this is your Lizzie Click, she would have been 98yrs old in 1913, and her married name would have been Pritchett....It's a long shot, but it's possible. This doesn't seem like a common name, so if it's not the same person, perhaps your Lizzie Click would be a cousin, niece or an in-law?? I'm gathering information on this name in TN, KY, and MO in hopes of finding the family connection. You can email me at jonesgeneration@yahoo.com Teresa Jones

Carrie is apparently married to a William S. Whitson. Lucinda's maiden name was Bolton. Her husband was Hiram Davis. They lived in Hamilton Co. TN in the 1870's. I need help in finding the cemetery they are buried in in Green Co. I would also like to correspond with any descendants of the Davis's and Whitson's. The men certainly did not spell their name Malone, there was also a Malone family in Greene County at the same time, but Maloney is a distinct name. Greene County records are full of records by the children using their correct name of Maloney. Robert was a tailor, but his pupil was Andrew Johnson, not Andrew Jackson. William A. and Thomas are not sons of Robert.

Surnames: DAY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ihB.2ACI/4369.1 Message Board Post: Judy, Your query brought out an something interesting: The book "Greene County, Tennessee Marriages, 1783 - 1868", by Bergner is missing the marriages for the first half of 1838!!! The end of 1837 has the license numbers in the 4000 range (the last one was 4052 on December 28, 1837 to John Foster and Sarah Hankins). The first one in 1838 that Bergner transcribed was number 78 dated August 18, 1838. Looks like a book was lost or maybe just missed? Can you tell where you got your info? On another note - I have transcribed the Day surname from the 1850 Tennessee census. There is a Caswell and Narcissa in Claiborne County, TN with issue Rhonda, Sarah, Martha, Thomas, John and James. Rhonda is 11 years old in this 1850 census suggesting an 1838 marriage of her parents. It looks like the Day Family tried to singlehandedly populate the 7th District of Claiborne County. There are 81 Days listed there in the census. If you are interested in this info email me off the board at Lazyday@aol.com and let me know which format you can use (Microsoft Works Spreadsheet, Excel, Word or hard copy via snail mail). Hope this helps. Patrick Day

Surnames: Knight,Ricker, Rick, Woods, Carter, Jones, Jinks Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ihB.2ACI/4371 Message Board Post: I belive that George and Oliver Rick listed in the Census of 1900-1910 and 1920 are in fact George W. and Oliver Ricker sons of Sarah Margaret Woods-Ricker. Some of the birth years are off according to what records I have, I want to make sure it is them before I link them to my line. If anyone else is researching these two and can prove they are not of my Ricker line, I'd appreciate any suggestions, information and help! What I have is: Sarah Margaret Woods married Joseph Page Ricker in Greene Co., TN. Joseph died in 1864 in the Civil war. Leaving wife Sarah and children George, John and Susan. Sarah was living in 1870 in Jefferson Co., TN with James R. Jinks. Who was married, but we believe was the father of at least some of her children born after Joseph's death. According to Bible records, and pension papers filed by Sarah her other children are: Oliver Ricker William L. Ricker b: 1865 Mary Elizabeth Ricker Marion F. Ricker b: 1867 Benjamin Franklyn Ricker B: 1867 (who is Marion F., changed his name upon leaving TN for Texas after finding trouble with the law) Nathan Dempsey Ricker B: 9-1870 (my GG grandfather) Hugh Ricker b: 1873 The family can't be located in 1880, except for John Ricker living with his aunt Martha and uncle James Carter in Greene Co., TN. There is also listed a Mary Ricks 23 yrs of age living with them. Sarah was in Jefferson Co., in 1870, by 1890 according to pension papers she was back in Greene Co., she filed again in 1905 and we know she died between 1909-1912 according to an accumulation of records including a letter written by her grandson stating that when his brother visited TN from TX that Sarah died.. and that it was between 1909-1912. She never married after Joseph Ricker. in 1900 Census for Greene Co., Dist 5 Oliver Rick 1-1877 Wife (?) 5-1878 John 4-1896 Flore 1-1899 house down: George Rick 8-1867 Maggie 6-1878 Sarah M. 1-1836 Mother Rachel 1-1870 sister Family records state George W. Ricker born December of 1863 State Sarah born 1843-1844 in 1920 Greene Co., TN dist 5 Ricker, Oliver 52 Annie 39 John 25 Flora 21 Frank 17 Charles15 Sally 12 Oscar 10 George 6 1910 District 5, Greene Co.., TN Rick, George 51 Maggie 35 Sarah M. 73 1920 District 6, Greene Co.,, TN Ricker, George 59 Ethel 23 Jack D. 5/12 This last George Ricker I KNOW is correct as the son of Sarah Woods Ricker and Joseph Ricker. He married first to Margaret Osburne, then to mary Ethel mcMurtry. Mary Ethel was a niece to his first wife Margaret. Margaret's mother is a cousin to Sarah Wood's. the 1900 census says George was born 9-1867. But it could be a 1861.. looking like 1867. in 1910, the Same George, (known by wife and mother Sarah living with him) Lists as being born 1859 1920 George that I KNOW is the correct George lists as being born 1861 1st wife Maggie=Margaret 2wife Ethel, after 1919 Why they were listed as Rick in two census rather than Ricker? The mother Sarah M. Rick living with George and wife Maggie until 1910, then not by 1920 would coincide with her having died after 1910. I suppose finding them in 1880 would help to clear the mystery but I can't locate them as of yet, including Zedekiah and Elizabeth Knight-Wood the parents of Sarah. I have gone through every page of Greene Co., Dist 5 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and am working on 1930. I find these same families next to eachother over and over again and can put together the links of their relations. Sorry to think "out loud" but am hoping that someone can either show me that my thought process is entirely wrong, or give me support to continue on with what I think in my gut is right and would explain why no one has been able to locate this family beyond 1870 until now. Why Sarah's children born after the death of Joseph Ricker went by the name of Ricker rather than by the name(s) of their father(s)?? because they were illigetimate?? Anyone familiar with this family, this area or any of these surnames would be greatly appreciated to mull things over with :) Thanks. Rachell chadl@gorge.net
