When I posted my other informaiton, I had many mistakes in it. I said my John WILSON family came from Hampshire Co. WV, when I meant Hardy Co., WV, and I said they came to Greene Co., TN in the late 1880s, when I should have said late 1780s. Donna

My great great grandfather George Madison Wilson born 1830 Wayne County kentucky settled in Hart County kentucky carrying a fiddle and 2 hunting dogs. He had lived in Poplar Bluff Missouri, Harrison County Indiana with his Aunt Diana Wilson Crezelous, across the Ohio in Meade County, Kentucky, Then Owensboro (Davies County, Kentucky) before settling in Hart and Edmonson County, Kentucky. Some of the Harps from Whitley and knox County settled nearby. I believe they were kin but never figured it out. George's mother was Caty Freshour and on his death record states his father was John Thomas Wilson. Years ago I found a record in Blount County Tennessee that stated that John thomas Wilson had a sister named Diana Crezelous. That means that John and Diana are the children of David Wilson of Greene County Tennessee. Diana was about 15 when she married John Crezelous. John Wilson married Caty Freshour in 1819 and they divorced in Mon! roe County, Tenn. John Thomas Wilson lived in Blount County. I find 3 John Thomas Wilsons on the Blount County Tax Records. One born 1774 and married 2nd Isabella Lyn (McLinn). One born 1789 and one born 1801 who married Margaret Henderson. The one who married Margaret Henderson died young and she moved to Oregon. The one born 1774 died on Bakers Creek in Blount County and is buried at the Bakers Creek Presbyterian Church. George Madison Wilson is burried in Hart County on the family farm. He was a weaver by trade. His mother is burried at the Pine Grove Cemetery. The family was Methodist Episical South in Hart County. The old wilson family was Presbterian and the Freshour family was Lutheran. So by the will I tie Diana burried in Harrison County, John Thomas Wilson, Peter Wilson(probably the oldest boy). I don't know much about George or David or the girls except one of the sisters(a coffett) died in Monroe County Tenn after leaving Knox County Tenn. Some of the family went to Indiana and others in Whitley County. I believe John Thomas Wilson was one of the younger boys because of the marriage in 1819. David I believe was older probably born 1774. I believe George was older, he went to Alabama with his wife's people. I have been working on this family for about 35 years. It has been a big puzzle with bits coming in little pieces. Winston Wilson 140 springhill Dr. SpringHill Estates Bardstown, Kentucky 40004

John C. & Fannie moved to Putnam Co., IN in the 1820s. I have no information on your John T. except an approximate date of birth of c 1760. Can you provide more information on him. I think I have a picture of Eliza (Lina) Wilson Michael who would have been my 2nd great grandmother on my mother's side if I have calculated that right. Sharon

I go through his son, John Wilson b:ca 1788 TN. My John, b:ca 1788, is really a mess trying to figure out how many times he was married & to who. The first I find him with much information is the 1850 census, Sullivan Co., IN. He was then married to a Permilla (Tinsley). His will in 1856, names children by his present wife, Permilla, then seperately names some other sons & daughters, then names 2 females named Polly Ann and Sally Ann Wright, his daughters by Fanny Sexton.

Actually all of the Reynolds' are! But the 1830 census has Thomas Reynold's age as 20-30; in 1840 the age is 50-60, and shouldn't his age be 30-40 in 1840? His wife's age seems to be consistent with the 50-60 age as well in the 1840 census. These don't seem to be the same Thomas. The marriages of Greene Co. 1780-1837 show the following: 1808 Thomas Reynolds m. Hannah Woolsey 1826 Thomas Reynolds m. Martha Kent 1831 Thomas Reynolds m. Elizabeth Winters The Thomas Reynolds in Iowa is age 49 in the 1850 census indicating a birthdate of 1801 which if this were the same Thomas from Greene Co. his age in 1850 would coincide with a birthdate of 1800-1810, closest to the Thomas of 1830 census. But who is wife Jane? Do you have a last name for her? I really would like to know what happened to Thomas, and his son William, the grandson of Sarah Cooper Kent. The math shows that William was probably born by 1826-1827 (Thomas and Martha married in Jan.1826), and we can probably assume he was their only child before Martha evidently died. He would have been about 16 yrs old when Sarah Cooper Kent made her will in 1842.
