It would be on the right, grown up. Too snakey to visit right now. I know that, from an earlier visit, that some people by the name of Day are buried there. I was wondering if anyone knew the name of that cemetery and/or had a list of who was buried there. Thanks for replies!! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I lived in Greeneville, Greene County, Tennessee. My wife was an Anderson. Her gggrandfather was William Amderson. He got married in 1837 in Greene County in the area of the county that your John Anderson got married. The Andersons, Bryans and Hurleys (William's wife family) lived in the Warrensburg/Mohawk area of Greene County. Looking at the signatures on William and John's marriage bonds it appears that William's signatures are the same. Also it appears on Marriages that William done, the signatures appear to be the same. I think William and John were brothers. I think their father was a William Anderson from North Carolina. If you are interested in getting a copy of the original marriage license and bond you can email Don Miller at the T. Elmer Cox Historical and Genealogical Library in Greeneville, Tennessee and requested copies. His email address is [email protected] You can go to the website www.ggcpl.org and select T. Elmer Cox Collection to see information about this library. A lot of records have been moved from the court house to this library including Greene County marriages from 1780 to 1987. If you are interested in sharing infrormation about these Andersons, you can contact me at [email protected] . I am intrigued about this man's middle name "Holman". Are there any indications that the Holman family is related to this line. The Moores and Holmans were both in my family line of Dobkins. Carol Dobkins Keith
I rarely see this surname, but it intrigued me. Sorry I don't have any information about Sarah Dinsmore, but in one branch of my Dobkins family-they were in Washington and Greene Counties, TN after migrating from Virginia-the name Dinsmore was carried down through three for four generations, as a middle name. I would like to see what else you have on Dinsmore, as I have always thought that one of my Dobkins spouses for which I only have a first name, might have been Dinsmore. Her first name was Hannah, and she married Hugh Dobkins. My email: [email protected] Carol Dobkins Keith

Am curious whether this is the couple who migrated to Indiana (first Madison, then Wayne and finally Union County). Smith Jones purportedly died in 1834, Nancy perhaps in 1840. Am trying to determine whether they are the parents of William Holman Jones (1817-1890) and Margaret Matilda Jones Moore (sp Samuel Moore). Who are the parents for the Jones-Wyatt couple? Author: dlwne Surnames: Welty Kifer Ilgenfritz Simon Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.tennessee.counties.greene/5094.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The results of recent DNA testing indicate an all female lineal descendent of Veronica Kifer the second wife of John Kifer of Greene Co. TN has an mtDNA match with an all female lineal descendent of Susan Kifer the wife of Jacob Kifer. Susan Kifer was the daughter of John and Margaret Welty of Greene Co. TN and Jacob Kifer was the son of John Kifer and his first wife Gloria. This match indicates there is a common female ancestor somewhere between Veronica Kifer and Susan Kifer. There is no proof that Veronica Kifer was a daughter of John and Margaret Welty but it is a likely possibility. It also could be that Veronica was a cousin of Susan Kifer through sisters of Susan's mother Margaret Welty nee Ilgenfritz. The 1830 census indicates Veronica was born between 1780 and 1790. John and Margaret Welty were married on Aug. 17, 1783 in York Co. PA. The earliest known child was Margaret who was born about 1786 according to census records. Thus there could have been a child born prior to Margaret and it could be Veronica. This may be another indication of the parents of John Welty. There was a marriage at Augustus Lutheran Church in Montgomery Co. PA in 1753 of John Anthon Simon and Euphronica Waldin the widow of Caspar. Fronica Simon and John Welty both appear on a 1796 communion record in Shenandoah Co. VA. It is possible Veronica Kifer was named after the mother of John Welty if it was Euphronica the wife of Caspar Waldi. Euphronica is derived from Eva Veronica. The parentage of John Welty is being pursued based on this new information. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Thank you very much for your very kind offer of assistance. Can you find anything on my James Preston Campbell and his wife, Mary Ann Carter? I believe they lived in Mosheim prior to 1900 and all their children were born there. I think Mary Ann died in Greene County abt. 1898. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
