John Anderson had been married before and had: James Anderson born about 1838 in Virginia Sarah Anderson born about 1839 in Virginia Thomas Anderson born about 1841 in Tennessee Then John Anderson and Almira White married and they had: Amanda Jane Anderson born Mar 1850 in Greene, Tennessee David William Anderson born about 1854 in Greene, Tennessee Just wondering if maybe this John White is related in some way to Almira White who is also in my direct line. He married Rebecca Francher or Fancher born 1760 in Prince Georges County, Maryland, USA, died in Greene, Tennessee. Do you think that this was wrong information and that Blue Drain was possibly this John Drain's son and then he could still be John Drain who married Sarah Henderson and Margaret Lane's father? Hope that made sense to you! There is enough age difference between the two John Drain's that they might be grandson and grandfather. Actually the older of the John Drain's, who could be the grandfather of John Drain who married Sarah Henderson, and the father of Blue Drain, I've seen as spelling his last name as Druin too. I've seen this John Drain/Druin as having these children: Daniel Drain born 1780 James Drain born 1780 Kindness Drain born 1783 David Lewis Drewin born 1786, died 1850 John Drain born 1790 Rebecca Drain born 1798 Solomon Drain born 1815 I'm not saying this is completely accurate. I believe I found this on FamilySearch.org. I just want what is accurate and if you have it, then I want it!!! I also found James Druin and Mary Weaver listed as the parents of John Drain/Druin born 1749 in Virginia, deid 18 Jan 1843 in Green, Kentucky. I also found this on FamilySearch.org. Hi, I have been attempting to "unsubscribe" from this site for the past six months - without success. All the various methods suggested have been used - without success. I have even contacted the List Administrator, twice - without success. This is a fine website; however, I am not presently researching the East Tennessee region and would like to be removed from the e-mail list. Perhaps there is no way possible for me to "unsubscribe" and I must remain subscribed for life. Is there any way for me to be banned from the site? WMM

Kindness Drain was born 1782 and m. John White b. 1772 on 7 Jun 1803. She may have had a brother Daniel who m. Rebecca Bryant 9 Jul 1803 in Greene Co. TN. Kindness's brother John was born about 1790 and first married Margaret Lane in 1810 and then Sarah Henderson in 1824 so he probably had two families of children. TN and had at least three children: Samuel b. 21 Feb 1795, John b. 1797 and James b. 1799 I realize that many researchers have not found their marriage date but here it is and much speculation about the birth dates and children can now be corrected. I tried to find an email address for Esther M. Ziock Carroll who has quite a web site re Henderson Genealogy in TN but could not, so someone might pass this along to her. I'm not sure where I found it, but it was probably in a Washington Co. database of some sort. Also, am interested in information about any Henderson who married a Reynolds in Greene Co. TN. SInce the courthouse fire of 1876 destroyed most to all of the county's historic records I have had volunteers tell me that they would like to begin a project to gather as much data as possible from surrounding counties and state records that refer to Cocke County. Since I'm usually not dumb I just jumped right on the bandwagon so am now doing my part in asking all of you who would have any Cocke county references/documents in your files to please, please forward those to us for posting at www.tngenweb.org/cocke TIA Joyce Gaston Reece

Some other Fortner researchers sent me information on John and Mary Jane's children. I wish I could find out more about Charles. I don't have an obituary, death record, or a cemetery. I don't have a full list of their children. It's very probable that Samuel had a daughter named Sarah since he had a wife named Sarah. Samuel & Sarah later moved to Platte Co MO between 1830 & 1840; but at least one of his sons stayed in Greene Co TN and had they had a daughter born before 1805 she'd have been married before they left for MO. Unfortunately, since there are no census records before 1830 for Greene Co TN; I can't determine how many children they had.
