I recently visited the Rheatown Cemetery, but was too forgetful to check out two tombstones I noticed. Is there anyone who lives close enough to check these out? I did take a few photos and once I found someone out and about who could tell me it's location, it was easy to find. A nice, peaceful, rural, well maintained cemetery. Judy, in NC

Teresa There's the library & courthouse in Greeneville of course, but you might also check out them in Washington county since it was the parent county of Greene County. You don't say how long you'll be in town, but the McClung library in Knoxville is great & the staff is terrific. Author: JRTaylor555 Surnames: Taylor Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.tennessee.counties.greene/9638/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello, I'm looking for an individual named Samuel D. Taylor born July 1867 or 1868. I've actually found him all over Jonesborough TN with his wife Bettie and 13 children. However, I can't find his father or at least documentation of his father. A very helpful person told that his dad is David A Taylor b. 1830 from Greene County. The person who gave me the information said it came from someone in the family who knew Adnrew, David A Taylor's son, had a brother named Samuel. However, there's nothing in the censuses I can find to link these people together. Does anyone have any information linking Samuel D Taylor as David A Taylor's son? Thanks so very much! I have asked for the Greene Co. list but realize that someone else has it. The problem is that we are getting lots of spam and it is not being monitored. I don't care about being list admin if you can simply start checking new subs to the list and blocking those that are simply spam. If you don't want to take the responsibility, I will be happy to take the list. Please do let me know. I have already reported this to Rootsweb without any results. I will let the list members know that you are the person to complain to about this problem so you might expect more e-mails about the issue. Thanks, Nola
I know how these incidents happen so just in case Nola is sick I'll mention it. I hesitated before since it wasn't my list. As I mentioned in an earlier email there are those of us who join social networking sites that arbitrarily copy ones addy book and sends invitations to everyone in it. This is what happened with the invite you all saw. Now, as far as it goes, all the emails complaining about it are just as off subject as the invitation was so what we ALL (including me) need to do is go about our researching and stop chatting about it. Folks, This is not simply a Greene Co. problem but it is certainly a problem. I have written to Rootsweb about it but have not gotten a response. The same person has been abusing other counties in different states and nothing has been done about them either. I am the list owner of a couple of NC lists that I can keep an eye on and thus a stranger like list would have been removed. I am not the list owner of the Greene Co. list and have not even found out who is. Whoever it is needs to step in and stop it. I do apologize but until Rootsweb responds, there is absolutely nothing I can do. I have been talking to a SC in another state that is having the same problem. I understand the SC Rep. for that state has also contacted Rootsweb. I will try again to get to Rootsweb and see if I can get the list since the list admin is obviously not paying any attention to what is happening. Sorry and I apologize, Nola
I don't know how it's been getting through, but I do know that Nola Duffy, Administrator, has been very ill. I've been trying to contact her unsuccessfully. Let's all pray for her. The list must just be "running wild" without her able to deal with it. Carol Dobkins Keith
