Jennings a private of Captain John C Bible Company 8th Regiment of Tennessee Cavalry who was enrolled on the First day of May One thousand Eight hundred and Sixty three to serve three years or during the war is hereby discharged from the Service of the United States this eleventh day of September 1865 at Knoxville Tennessee by reason of S.C No 47 (?) H 2nd (?) Dept Tenn, C.S. No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist. Said John P. Jennings was born in Grainger Co. in the state of Tennessee, is 28 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high Fair Complexion, Blue eyes, light hair and by occupation when enrolled a farmer.
