    3. Dear Betty, I am sending some transcriptions of Union discharge papers to the list that I found in the land records for Grainger County (1866-1869). (Why they recorded amonst the land records I haven't a clue. <smile> ) These are from a microfilm, not the original books. At least I am trying to. I don't seem to be getting them off so it may be awhile before you or the other Grainger county researchers see this message either. <grin> We seem to be having trouble with our ISP connection this afternoon. Anyway I think it is at the ISP rather than softhome. I seem to have more luck getting online than my husband although we are networked and his is the "boss computer" <grin>. However, that's not much help since I can connect, but can't really go anywhere online or send messages. I have been able to receive messages every now, but have had no luck getting these transcriptions off so I will try again later this evening.
