List: I have information which states that the widow of William Mays, Mary, married Samuel Biggerstaff (Jr). I do not have dates but it was before 01/15/1818, and perhaps in or near Cumberland Co., KY. In a quit claim deed, Mary names legetees as: Thomas Johnson and his wife Joanna, formerly Mays, Frederick Mays, Moses Cook and his wife Mary, formerly Mays, James McCarty and his wife Sarah, formerly Mays, and William Mays and his wife Susannah, daughter of the deceased William Mays. Further into this document I find where both Mary and Samuel agree to legacies which are given to Sarah Mays McCarty and Mary Mays Cook which were in the will of William Mays. >From what I gather the William Mays children were Joanna, Frederick, Mary, Sarah and Susannah. I am not clear if Sarah Mays and Mary Mays were children of the deceased William Mays by another spouse. If anyone can clear this up for me, I would appreicate your help. Sheri P. Thanks loads, Tina - appreciate your response. I do have that 1860 census info, which doesn't really answer the question, so I thought I would try it from the Hodge direction. But thanks anyway! Good morning, Tina - thanks for trying. Charlie and I are in touch on a regular basis, although he has determined the TN Bibbins are not his. Sorry I did not respond sooner, I did not see your email come in! I do appreciate everyone's help!! It does begin to look as if Elijah was from Knox Co. KY, but I have not ventured into that angle yet. He was gone from Grainger Co. by 1830. Thanks Kenneth, sure appreciate your response. I have that info also. It's been like pulling hen's teeth, just finding one tidbit at a time. But they are beginning to add up, slowly.
