List: I have the daughter of Big John Mayes, Nancy Mayes marrying John Joyce, the son of John Joyce and Lucy Edwards Joyce. This marriage between John and Nancy occured 12/27/1836 in Grainger Co., TN. Their son Wilson married Mary Mayes on 11/15/1859 in Stewart Co., TN. I have been provided with the information that this Mary Mayes is also the daughter of Big John Mayes. This means that Wilson Joyce married his own maternal aunt. This same Mary Mayes Joyce also married Richard Solomon (born 1857 Trigg Co., KY) after Wilson died in 1877. This second marriage occured 02/26/1878.
