Sheri, Almost all of the information I have on Moore is in my query! I do know that one or more John/Jonathan Moore's owned quite a bit of land in and around the vacinity where my g-g-grandfather G. W. Creel had land. Almost all Creel family researchers believe that Grandfather Moore either tried or did beat the boys out of their land in AL, and that's why they packed up and went to MS. Maybe Grandpa thought he deserved it for having spent years raising the boys, all of whom were very young when both father and mother died, and maybe he did deserve it. Their three children, one of whom was my great-grandfather, were raised by the Grandfather Moore. These children later went to MS, and came to Texas from Tate Co. MS in about 1895.
