PARKER, BRUCE, 70, of Monroe, Mich., formerly of Tazewell passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005 at his home in Monroe. He had been ill for five years, seriously ill since April. Born May 26, 1935 in Tazewell, he was the son of the late Ben and Alma (Hurst) Parker. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served as peacekeeper in Korea. He retired January 4, 1985 from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Washburn and attended Frenchtown Baptist Church of Monroe. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15 in the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Epperson officiating. Music will be provided by the Epperson Family. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16 in the Raven Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Claiborne Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, or to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe, Mich! .
