He had been ill for five years and seriously ill since April. Visitation will be held at Claiborne Funeral Home, New Tazewell, Tenn. Burial will be in Raven Hill Cemetery, Tazewell, Tenn. Allore Funeral Home handled local arrangements. Born May 26, 1935, in Tazewell, he was the son of Ben and Alma (Hurst) Parker. He married Joann (Waller) Standifer on July 28, 1984, in Monroe. Surviving are his wife, Joann, of Monroe; three sons, Fred (Shirley) Parker of Tazewell, Gary (Nancy) Standifer and Rudy (Patricia) Standifer, both of Monroe; two daughters, Kristi (Dale) Parker of Corryton, Tenn., and Connie (Jeffrey) Winkelman of Monroe; a foster son, James Davis of Monroe; eight grandchildren and six great-granddaughters.
