However, her parents, Jacob and Caroline, were not happy that she was marrying a man that was divorced (I can't find any information about this divorce). Ggrandpa McDonald was 23 years her senior and a veteran of the civil war. Katie wasn't even born until after the war, 1866. Katie was a twin. Here sister's name was Sarah. There were seven other children in this family. I thought I would add that in case it matches someone's family out there.
