Please take the information that Edward was the son of Liggen and Easter (Esther) Daniel Mayes with a degree of skepticism. He may be, but Regan says she is not sure of that and I can find no information that directly says he is. I have no exact DODs for either Nancy "Nannie" Greenlee or Sarah Roach. Nancy was apparently dead by the time the 1840 census was taken. Sarah died bebetween the birth of son William and 1860. Everyone alos might want to be cautious of the designation of Henry County, Virginia as Edward's birthplace if Edward was not Liggen and Easter's son. (the census dows say that Edward was born Virginia.)
