Development of a clever research strategy to solve the two Louisa'[s: <grin> Didn't someone on this list once say that they did their best genealogical thinking in the middle of the night?? I woke up one night acouple of months ago thinking drowsily that when we got caught up, I should go to the county library and find Willian, Joseph N., John M. , Maria Dalton, and Catherine Noe Holt's obituaries. These obituaries might help staighten out the two Louisas. Also if the lady who first introduced me to this interesting hobby asked how I was coming along with my "Morristown to Atchison County" project I could tell her I was "working on" the Holts. oops I think I told her I was researching the Holts a couple of years ago. More drowsy thinking "Hmm let's ..see John T. Williams was from Morristown. Sneaking a peek at the DH who had suggested that we need our sleep and that getting up in the middle of the night to do genealogical research was NOT a good idea. Padding softly down to the farm office I seized the Atchison County, Missouri cemetery book and looked at the Home cemetery entries for Williams. hmmmm here we have Louise Williams b. 1855 d. 1931 And above that John T. b. September 18, 1856 Morristown, TN d. September 29, 1927. And above John T J. F. b. Septmber 18, 1956-d. Apr. 7, 1924 At first I thought that this was something like my records showing that Joseph William and John Henry Long were twins though from the census this isn't so. This is a terrific book, but there are errors in the book. Partly because it includes people who don't have stones. hhmm However, here we have two +s...(those who don't have stones are marked with -s <smile) Resolving to chck this out soon I went back to bed. By 3 a.m. I was sneaking back down to the computer. I am always griping that the online world might be going to "ruin" research OTOH <grin> most libraries aren't open all night. Logging onto Ancestry I searched for Jonathon Williams aged 3 on the 1860 Grainger County, Tennessee census. In the housedhold of Josph and Sarah Williams...John 3, Johnathon 3 (twins). (I swear that I am NOT making this up! If you all doubt this, you can check the census for yourself <grin>) Then at 4:30 in the morning checking out the 1920 Atchison County census, "J.F. Williams born Tennessee, Louise Williams born Tennessee, Gracie Williams. ..well you get the picture. The next day must have been Tuesday or Thursday when the Atchison County Library has evening hours. Peering down at the DH through the floor of the grain truck, I informed him that I had figured out a way to "resolve the two Louisas and asked if he minded if I took off for the Atchison County Library about 6:00. His reaction was NOT favorable!!! BBFN Gail
