Betty, The Ancestry info on John and Sally comes from a database called "Tennessee Marriages to 1825" and was compiled by Liahona Research at the LDS Family History Library in Salt Lake City, UT. The introduction to the database states that it unfortunately does not contain citations for the origin of each entry and advises to use only as a place to start in gathering information. If it is printed in some book, it is wrong. People have been citing that date for years and some books even have him marrying Sally Bowmans. It looks to me like someone transcribing the marriage records inadvertently skipped a line in the entry and that produced an error, both in the date and in Sally's name. I have a copy of the original bond, and they married in 1820. They were my 4th g-grandparents. This John was a nephew of the John that Shar is looking for a marriage record for. Thanks. Betty Texas
