Hello Listers: Is there anyone on the list researching the surname Ferguson (variations of name as well)? This name is associated with several Coffey marriages and I know there were Fergusons in Grainger Co., TN early on. Sarah Ferguson died 1847 in Hancock Co., TN (area which was Hawkins Co.,Tn prior to 1844) married Bennett Coffey in Wilkes Co., NC in 1805. A proven son Caswell was born in 1806 Wilkes Co., NC. Another proven son Joel was born after 1806, do not know which state. Bennett was in Tennessee by 1809 I believe. There are several Fergusons in the census records but I cannot determine if they were related to any of the Wilkes Co., NC Fergusons. Thanks for any advise, clues, suggestions! Sherri: I have Ferguson in 4 different lines, but havn't done much research on them at this time. Do you have her parent's name? If you do I will pull what I have and see if we match anywhere?
