Bill, Frances (Frankie Ann) wed William Purkey 1849 Grainger Co. His mother was Malinda____and possibly James Purkey. Children: Mary or Margaret Purkey married John Hoover 1867 Jefferson Co. Cornelia or Caroline married William Hoover 1870. I cannot find anything on these 2 children after marriage. I believe Caroline and William had a son James Hoover born 1871.Sarah Dorcas Purkey was a daughter and she wed Jesse F. Brown 1872. They moved to Knox Co and had several children. In 1871 Frankie wed Frank E. Fetting. He dies between 1870 and 1880 for 1880 she is living with daughter, Sarah Dorcas Brown and family in Hamblen Co. She moved to Knox Co with them and she was living in 1910. James Hoover was listed as a nephew and was with Sarah Dorcas and Jesse Brown and 2 children and also mother-in-law Frankie Fetting also. Mr. Fettingwas born Mechlinberg, Sterlitz? This was probably Lithuania or Soviet Union. Frankie and William had a son John Purkey born 1859 and living with Viola Purkey Long and Joseph Long in 1880 as a laborer. A Spoon researcher said Frankie had a sister, Barbara(Barbry) Spoon. She was accepted by experience according to church records Dec. third Sat 1847 at New Prospect. They were daughters of John Spoon and Mahala Turner who migrated to Benton Co., Ar. after March 1850. This seems logical for Frankie and William wed 1849 Gr. Co. and Barbara wed Jesse Linch/Lynch ca. 1853 in Ar. While Jesse was serving in Confederate Army she was killed by bushwackers. John and Mahala Spoon had 11children born in Tn. How are yo relatedto Frankie? Good morning Arlene, I'm not sure how I'm related to this Frances Spoon. My line starts with Eli Spoon who was married to Mary Ann Terry in Grainger in 1829. The bondsman was John Spoon, but there were a lot of John Spoons. Also at the wedding were Abraham and Mary Spoon. That Mary was still alive when Eli died in 1881, so I assume she is the one who died in 1882 and is buried in the Morris Cemetery. I've been working on the endless supply of Hursts and others from my father's side of the family recently, so I've neglected my mother's side. I'll send you a census page in a minute showing Watkins at the top and Eli Spoon on the last line. By the way, Mecklenburg-Strelitz was and is in Germany. It's now in the state of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. We didn't get there on any of my tours of Germany. Most famous daughter was Charlotte, the wife of George III. See the following: http://members.cox.net/smithgen/places/meck/mecklenburg.htm<http://members.cox.net/smithgen/places/meck/mecklenburg.htm> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlotte_of_Mecklenburg-Strelitz<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlotte_of_Mecklenburg-Strelitz> Thanks for all the information.
