    3. Regretably, very few loose wills were saved in the move to the Archives. The original will of Baxter Ivy is not among the loose wills held by the Grainger County Archives. Most of the wills we found were in the loose estate settlement files, rather than in the loose will file itself. In looking through the WPA Records "Grainger County, Tennessee, Loose Wills," it appears that very few of the loose wills transcribed by the WPA are held by the Grainger County Archives. The few loose wills which survived will be microfilmed with the loose settlement files of estates and guardianships. 3. In my "Grainger Co TN Loose Wills" found on my site: http://pages.xtn.net/~billiam/loosewills.html This is found: [QUOTE] GRAINGER CO TN LOOSE WILLS THIS IS ONLY A LIST OF NAMES--NO INFORMATION I ONLY COPIED THE NAMES LISTED HERE FROM THE BOOK This is "old index" to Grainger Co TN Loose Wills. YEARS AGO I copied "old index" from bound book on the shelves of the McClung Room, Knoxville, TN. Xerox copies cannot be made from this book, but the book is on Microfilm that can be copied. I should have found out what their procedure is for handling requests by mail for making xerox copies. Sorry. [END QUOTE] Ivy, Baxter 61,62 Hope this helps. Due to health and other reasons, my family research may have come to a stop. Some of the info on my site that may be of interest to Grainger Co TN researchers: http://pages.xtn.net/~billiam/graingercotn.html Some of the links are old and may no work. Another link that may be of interest, "Location Links": http://pages.xtn.net/~billiam/location.html This is a collection of links (by state and county) I've found that may be helpful in my research in these locations. Again: Some of the links are old and may no work. If any of this is of use, let me know. For many years my main place for Grainger Co TN information was the McClung Room in Knoxville, TN. -- Bill Waller Grainger Archives wrote: > > Regretably, very few loose wills were saved in the move to the Archives. > The original will of Baxter Ivy is not among the loose wills held by the > Grainger County Archives. > > Most of the wills we found were in the loose estate settlement files, rather > than in the loose will file itself.
