Hi Gail, I believe that your Moses was a brother of my Rachel, b. 1793 in Grainger, and son of Ambrose Hodge and Elizabeth (UNK). Rachel had sons Bartholomew and Moses. This William Moses was a son of (possibly) this Bartholomew. The name Moses is still used in my line i.e. G-Uncle Robert Moses Hodge, Uncle George Mose Hodge, and 3rd cousin William Moses Hodge.
