    3. Yes, there is an 1860 and 1870 census for Grainger County. Also you should be aware that if you had ancestors living in the part of Grainger County and Jefferson Counties that became present day Hamblen County they would still be listed on the 1870 census in Jefferson and Grainger Counties. Hamblen County dates from 1870, but the first federal census for Hamlen County was taken in 1880.
