I thank you for your reply, My Martha Mayes was born Tennessee in they year of 1799 or 1800, he husband William Daniel was born 1798, Henry county, Va. he married her in 1821, Grainger county, I am almost certain that William 's father was Edward Daniel, William and his family left Grainger in or around 1846-1848 and came to Benton county, Ark. I find William and his wife Martha on the 1850 census, Benton county, with children Martha, Rachell, William, Mary and James. They had another son that I know about that was John Daniel, who was born 1823, he married Mary Anna Jeffreys in 1842, she was the daughter of Marmaduke Norfleet Jeffreys and Hannah Louise Hill, they two also came to Ark. Benton county, John and Mary Annah stayed in Benton, where they both died there,. I don't know where Willam and Martha went, I have heard Mo. but not for certain,Thanks Vickie The Farm wrote: > I have 5 Martha Mayes' in the Vineyard line born between > 1803-1873....probably have over 30 Mayes' in all.
