I am expanding my search to include various spellings and asking if anyone's research includes a marriage of one of their family to a Brownlow, Brownlee, or Brownley. I have even seen it spelled "Browlow"...we know how notoriously bad spellers these officials were...anyway, I thought I would see if mybe the woman I am looking for might be mentioned as a relative in someone else's research. A.S. Brownlow m. ? in time to have a child by 1841. She died after the last child was born in 1847 and before he married Nancy Walters in August of 1847. The children were born in Washington Co., Tennessee but that doesn't mean he married her there and since he doesn't show up in the Washington Co. 1840 census, I am guessing he didn't. He grew up in Abingdon, Va. but I can find nothing on him there either... (he was the brother to Wm. G. Brownlow, who was the first Governor of Tennessee after Reconstruction) I would appreciate anyone sending me anything that even looks close...that's how much I want to find this woman's name.... Thanks, Pam
