I am looking for any information anyone might have about the surname Widby. I have been told that the Widbys came from Virginia and settled in Grainger county. I know very little about the Widby family....but here is what I know, starting with my father. My father was Edward LeRoy Carter Widby, born in Knoxville Tennessee. His mother and father were Cora Redden and Basil Tyler Widby. Basil had a brother James Cecil, and a sister Deasery. Their mother was Sarah Woodsby, but do not know the name of the Widby man she was married to. I know that at one time Sarah and her husband ran a boarding house in Virginia. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone might be able to give me on either Woodsby or Widby name... Thanks Janet Coen
