Lynda, Thank you so much for the good news! Can you tell me how much it costs and the address to order it from? Or who to contact? I would like to get one before they are sold out. In addition to some other lines, I have some Moore relatives in the Bradford family of Jefferson County, which was quite prominent in legal and political circles there in the early-mid 1800s. Also the Reese and Fain families, not to mention Camerons, too. There are several references to Bradfords in the Jefferson County history section of Goodspeed's 1887 History of Thirty East Tennesee Counties: p. 863: Clerks of the circuit court -- . . . N. B. Bradford, 1825-34; Theoderic I. Bradford, 1834-40; Benjamin Branner, 1840-1844; Theoderic I. Bradford, 1844-1856; . . .. Clerks and masters -- . . . William M. Bradford, 1851-57; . . .. Sheriffs -- James Bradford, 1807-39; A. K. Bradford, 1839-40; . . .. p. 860: In 1850 the Dandridge Female Academy was incorporated with H. J. Dick, W. R. Caswell, William Bradford, James Fuller, William D. Fain, George M. Simpson, James Scruggs, T. I. Bradford and James P. Swann as trustees. p. 858: Napoleon B. Bradford was an attorney at the Dandridge bar for some time. He served as clerk of the circuit court from 1825 to 1834, and had just been elected to the Legislature when he died. His cousin, William M. Bradford, was also a prominent member of the profession in Jefferson County. At the beginning of the war, he entered the Confederate Army, and was made colonel of the Thirty-first Tennessee Regiment. He is now a resident of Chattanooga. End of Goodspeed extracts. Because the 1860 census, gives Theo. (or Thomas) Bradford's age as 48, he could not be a son of Napoleon and Emily, so he may be a brother or another cousin of Napoleon. A. K. [Alexander Keith], who married Cleon's daughter, Margaret, is also mentioned above in the sheriffs list. Is the long-time sheriff, James Bradford, the father and/or uncle of these Bradfords (or their widows like Emily) who married into the Cleon Moore family? 2. ae.
