    3. Hi Ross, Do you have any additional info on the Hodges of Jefferson Co. that you mentioned in your note? I show a family with some common names that may be related. It looks as though you have Frances (?) Hodges as a widow of a Hodges, is that correct? Charles Hodges Sr. B. 1752 Commissioned Capt. Tenn. Miltia on 10/12/1794 D. 4/13/1836 Buried Hodges Switch Cem., Strawberry Plains, Tn. Wife Frances Calloway B. 1758 md. ca 1779-82 D. 11/13/1851 Bur Hodges Sw. Cem. [ Frances Callaway was the d/o Thomas Callaway, Sr. and Mary Baker. She was born in Halifax, Va.. Thomas' father was Joseph Callaway b. 1675 in Caroline Co. Va. and his mother was Margaret Anderson ?] [ Jefferson Co. Will and Sale Book 1833-1840 lists "Sale of Estate" (furniture, two slaves & stock) Witnessed by Welcome William Hodges, Calloway Hodges, and Joseph Hamilton. Provided for widow, Frances. Sale of Estate on 5/27/1836. Purchasers were Fanny Hodges, Chas. Hodges, Chas. B. Hodges, Jos. Hodges, Jos. C. Hodges, Wm. Hodges, C.B. Hodges, Joseph Hodges, T. Hodges, Frances Hodges, and Welcome Hodges. Other non Hodges ] Ken >In addition to some other lines, I have some Moore relatives in the Bradford family of Jefferson County, which was quite prominent in legal and political circles there in the early-mid 1800s. Also the Reese and Fain families, not to mention Camerons, too.
