If you want you can let me know when you are planning on being in Rutledge and I'll try to help you. I have been going to Rutledge (from Knoxville) at least once a week. I and a friend are transcribing the marriage records. There are records in the old Rutledge High School which is maybe 1/2 mile south of the court house. But be warned they are in a mess. The records are just thrown into boxes without any order what so ever. We think we have gotten all the marriage records out. We took them back to the courthouse. It is very hot here right now and there is no air condition in the old school. That is one reason I have been working in the court house. There is not lodging in Rutledge so you may want to consider staying in Knoxville. I'm in north Knox county and it takes me approx. 45 minutes to drive to Rutledge. I think you would enjoy the drive.
