I have determined that the David BOWERS who appears in the 1830 census for Grainger Co., TN is another brother of my 2nd great grandfather, Andrew BOWERS. Per later census records, he was born about 1806 in VA. It may help me trace the BOWERS who came to Grainger Co., TN if I knew when and where David was married. I would appreciate a lookup in Sistler for a marriage of David Bowers prior to 1830. (Later censuses identify his wife as Nancy and Anna, born about 1813 in MD. These appear to be one and the same person, but may or may not be the spouse David married before 1830. Nancy/Anna would have been only about 14 when David's first child was born. This child was named Campbell BOWERS and was born about 1827 in TN. Could Campbell be his mother's maiden name?) There was also a Henry BOWERS in the 1830 census for Grainger Co., who may also be a brother. Does Sistler show a marriage for Henry BOWERS prior to 1830? Finally, it's possible these BOWERS went from VA to NC before coming to TN. Does anyone know of a book comparable to Sistler for NC marriages? Thanks to whomever can help me. Robert Strong
