Ann, I too am looking for connection to TATE, HAYNES and PATTERSON surnames. The TATE name weaves in and out of my direct TRAVIS & PIERCE lines. My gg-grandfather Calvin BUTLER, first married a woman named Weathly "Adaline" HAYNES on Oct. 03, 1857 and then married Ellen Virginia ROLAND, on Dec. 23, 1868. The name PATTERSON shows up on a marriage bond on one of my TRAVIS family. Sometimes the bondsman happens to be related to either the bride or groom. If you receive any information on those surnames, I would appreciate if you would share. Many Thanks!
