Hi Debbie, I believe we corresponded a few months ago, but I will post my BURCHELL line for the rest of the list also. James Burchell b-ca 1818 moved from Rockingham NC to east Tn between 1830-40 married Catherine (u/k) early 1840's. Children are: 1.George b-1843 2.Elizabeth b-1845 3.Penelope b-1848 4.William b-1850 5.Richard b-1852 6.Eliza b-1855 7.John b-1857 8.Minerva b-1859 married John C. Riggins May 1880 9.Thomas b-1862 10.Samuel b-1863 married Viola Jane Fralix in 1889 (My g-grandparents) 11.Louisa b-1865 married a John Dyer in 1882 Hamblen Co. 12.James b-1867 13.Robert Franlkin b-1870 married Helen Elizabeth(Lizzie) Fralix 1893 in Grainger Co., sister of Viola Jane. The family story is that Samuel was killed in a logging accident between 1900-1905 and that Viola took their 5 children Mae, David, Alice, Laura and Jessie and moved with her parents James Milton Fralix/Martha Watts to Giles Co TN. Several other children of the Fralix's also moved to Giles Co. including Robert Franklin Burchell and Lizzie Fralix, RF and Lizzie were said to have moved on to Texas and were lost track of, I would love to have contact with their descendants. At this time several members of our family have tried to find any information on Samuel and the circumstances surrounding his death but have found no death records or newspaper accounts. We have no idea where he was buried and would appreciate any help in locating any information on him. Is there anyone who might have access to any records that might share some light on this? gaurdianship information or property settlements? I would appreciate any help anyone might offer as to where I might search next.
