While looking for some Cardwell info, I ran across some info involving subject names. I didn't keep a copy of every message, so don't know who is looking and I don't know for whom they are looking, but maybe this will help someone: Mary A. CARDWELL, b. Grainger Co. TN 24 Feb. 1814, d. 10 Mar 1888, bd. with 2nd husband, David Tate, in Shiloh Cemetery, Grainger Co. TN She was the dau of Robert and Elizabeth Copelin Cardwell. She md. Andrew CHAMBERLAIN 11 Oct 1830. Andrew d. 1833, inventory of his estate was filed 4 Aug 1834. Robert Cardwell was made guardian of the infant children, and Chamberlain left a sizable estate to them. Mary md. 2) David N. TATE 5 Mar 1835. David was b. 29 Jun 1812, d. 16 Feb 1883. He was the son of Edward Tate and Lucy U/K. Andrew & Mary Cardwell Chamberlain had two children: Jeremiah Chamberlain, md. Martha A. E. Widders, and Elizabeth Jane Chamberlain, who md. Samuel N. TATE 28 July 1850, Grainger Co. TN. Elizabeth Jane and Samuel TATE had: George, Lucy C., Edward M., Catherine A., M. J. (female), Comfort K., and Samuel N. David N. TATE and Mary Cardwell Chamberlain Tate had: Edward M. (md. Mary C. NOE 18 April 1858, daughter of Solomon NOE & Mahaly U/K) Both are buried Shiloh Cemetery, Grainger Co. TN. Their children were Mary E. Tate, Mahala Josephiine Tate (md. R. B. West), David E. Tate (md. Sallie H.), Elisha Knox Tate, Samuel Tate, Minnie Tate. Lucy Tate, md. Samuel A. Brooks 5 Feb 1857 Mary J. Tate, md. Thomas J. Brooks 3 Dec 1865 John R. Tate David A. Tate (md. Mary Jane Churchman) Victoria C. Tate Joseph L. Cardwell (L. stands for Levi or Levy) born Panther Creek, Grainger Co. TN 20 Sept 1832. He was the son of John Cardwell and Sarah Smith, d. at Sulphur Springs, Hamblen Co. TN 10 Oct 1910, bd. Hamblen Co. TN. He married Emily Miles, and after her death md. Emily's sister, Henrietta Miles Leapard. Joseph L. Cardwell and Emily Miles had 11 children. The fourth child was John Wesley Cardwell, md. Mary Anna Harrison, and they had nine children. The oldest of their children, Maude A. Cardwell, b. 21 Nov 1893, married Barney Hubert NOE. Their eight children were: Harold C. Noe, Norma Afton Noe, Mary Ann Noe, Barney Hubert Noe, Jr., Margaret May Noe, Ruby Elizabeth Noe, Virginia Dare Noe, Henry Everett Noe. Hope this helps someone.
