I'm looking for any info on my ancestor Ambrose Hodge, born ca 1766 in Ireland, moved to Sullivan Co. in 1772, and to Grainger ca 1790 where he md. Elizabeth (UNK). One of his sons was Edmond (Edward) Hodge who md. Mary Noe and moved to Roane Co. ca 1835. Edmond Hodges Married Mary E. Noe 4/6/1820 John Hodges, Bondsman Other connections are: Ruth HODGES md. Wiliam Darnell 19 Sep 1844 bds Daniel Noe, Joseph W. Patterson JP HODGES, Eli, deceased. Wife Emalue; note on hand on Daniel & Joseph NOE due 14 Sep 1845 (don't worry, I'm not trying to collect on this) This William is the brother of my G-Grandfather, John Hodge and he was md. in Roane Co., Tn.: *William Hodge md. Elizabeth Strops 4/11/1849 sur. Joseph Noe, M.S. Millican, J.P. MB2 129-130 There was another Ambrose Hodge in Grainger prior to 1804 who seems to be the Uncle of my Ambrose. He married Elizabeth Barton ca 1765 and lived in the Hamblen Co. area of Grainger. Any info is appreciated since I'm now stumped.
