I looked at my book that I have transcribed from the Grainger Co. marriage licenses. I also had Reece Bowen married to Mary Moody 4-4-1825. I have transcribed 6 Bowen grooms and only 1 Bowers during the 1820's. These records are really in bad shape and the handwriting wasn't very good to begin with. I hope this helps. IMsMickey@aol.com
