Kennerly's compilation of Grainger Co. marriages list three early marriages of interest to me: Andrew BOWEN to Katherine HOWETH, 26 Aug 1816 Reece BOWERS to Mary MOODY, 4 Apr 1825 John BOWERS to Cloe ARNWINE, 11 Mar 1829. Andrew BOWEN was in fact Andrew BOWERS, my 2nd great grandfather. I am interested in the other two marriages for what they might reveal about the early Grainger Co. BOWERS family. The BOWERS/MOODY marriage appears to be a red herring. Just as my Andrew was mistakenly transcribed as a Bowen, so it seems that Reece Bowen was mistakenly transcribed as a Bowers. Is there a Bowen researcher on the list who can confirm this? John BOWERS seems the most likely to be a relative of Andrew BOWERS, since Andrew served as the bondsman for his wedding. Is there an ARNWINE researcher on the list who has any information about John BOWERS and Cloe ARNWINE? Robert Strong
