    1. Re: [TNGRAING-L] Re: Lea Springs aka Blaine?
    2. I grew up in Blaine and now live about 30 minutes away now in Knox Co. Blaine was once called Blaine Crossroads but now it is just Blaine, Tn the zip code is 37709. When I was little there were all these communities in Grainger Co. such as Blaine, Richland, Indian Ridge, Lea Springs, Little Valley and much more. About a mile east on Rutledge Pike from Blaine is a little church called Lea Springs Baptist Church. At one time all these little communities had their own little school. Looking back at the birth records of my older Uncles and Aunts who were born in the 1920's it lists their birth place as Lea Springs. I'm not sure if that is where a midwife lived or a Doctor. I will try to find out. My oldest aunt living was born in 1923 and her birth records lists her birth place as Lea Springs. I know my grandparents always lived in Richland community so they had to travel a little to get to Lea Springs. I'm not sure if you could find Lea Springs on a map or not. It would be my guess the only way you could tell you were in Lea Springs is to be at the church. Thanks! Mickey
