The McClung Collection at Lawson McGhee Library in Knoxville (ETHS) has newspaper clippings of obituaries filed by surname. Wow! What a roll call! You don't want to skip a day of mail on this one :) My Grainger lines are: Dodson/Dotson, Nash, Mallicoat and Foust (in Rhea County). Desparately searching for information on Polly ? who married (prior to 1800) Thomas Dotson (brother of Samuel who stayed in Grainger) . Their son Samuel W. married Frances Nash, daughter of Thomas and Dicey Mallicoat Nash. Would like to correspond with anyone researching these surnames. I have lots of questions.. Some of you Greenlees might be interested in knowing that some of your family migrated to Webster County, Missouri. James Henry Greelee married Arminda Dodson there on March 18,1884. Debbie, I have a Nancy Nannie GREENLEE who was born 1798, died 1833. She married an Edward MAYES. This is the only Nancy who appears in my GREENLEE line and I start with James GREENLEE born before 1765 and end with my great-great-grandmother, Levisa GREENLEE DANIEL who died in 1897. I do have John GREENLEE SR. born 1775 and his mother was Nancy Elizabeth (unknown maiden name born in 1866) and John GREENLEE SR. was married in Jefferson Co. TN to Elizabeth SUTHERLAND 15 July 1797. My notes report that the father of Levisa GREENLEE DANIEL was born in IRELAND. I'm sorry but it doesn't look like our lines connect. I don't expect to ever receive any more info for the GREENLEE family since it stopped for us with Levisa GREENLEE DANIEL who died in 1897 in Kentucky. Happy Hunting! Very best wishes, Evelyn Hansson Richmond, KY (Born in Pulaski Co., IL.)

Hello to all Morgan Researchers. I am searching for a James Morgan who married Mattie Blanton on October 3, 1870 in Hamblen County. Have never been able to locate them in a census record. Am also looking for a John Morgan who married Catherine Watts on April 29, 1883. A John Medlin was Bondsman and the marriage was solemnized by J. N. Hobbs, Minister of the Gospel.
