    1. [TNGRAING-L] Father of Bryant Douglas - NC, VA, TN
    2. Pat aka Jeeter
    3. It has been awhile but since I am unable to get out and do library searches, etc., I am posting again to all the sites I can. I am trying to find the father of Bryant DOUGLAS b. 1811 in Tennessee. Abt 1834, he married Mary STARNES b abt 1812. Bryant DOUGLAS was last found on the 1880 Census Rutherford County. So, I am assuming he died between 1880 and 1890. His death could be registered in either Rutherford or Coffee County, TN. Bryant DOUGLAS is the son of one of the two below listed gentlemen. 1) Thomas DOUGLAS (son of John DOUGLAS) b 1780, in Northumberland County, VA who, after migrating through Richmond and and Northumberland counties in Virginia, to either Orange or Caswell County, NC, married Edith Thompson on Feb 29, 1804 in Johnston County, NC. Then they came to Tennessee. He was first found in TN on the 1830 Census of Rutherford County. He lived close to Bryant and Bryant had bought some land from him. There are other things to lead me to believe this could be the father of Bryant Douglas. or Berryman DOUGLAS (son of Joseph) b. Abt 1785 in Fauquier Co., VA. Joseph DOUGLAS was born in Charles Co, MD and has been found in Botetout, Stratford and Westmoreland Counties in Virginia. Berryman DOUGLAS married Susannah Bailes on October 19, 1808 in Grainger Co., TN. They moved then to Rutheford County where she died and he then married (2) Polly Maxwell. Berryman was first found on the Rutherford County Census in 1820 with two male children. one 0-10 yrs old. one 10-16. We are assuming the one 10-16 could be Bryant who was born in 1810-11. There are other things to lead me to believe he could also be the father. These pages reflect my search: http://home.att.net/~gene2/douglas/index.htm Berryman as the father of Bryant http://home.att.net/~gene2/thomas/index.htm Thoams as the father of Bryant. I would appreciate any help anyone has to offer. -- ****** Pat aka Jeeter [Patricia Douglas Vance] Email: VancePat@att.net Jeeter's Joint: http://home.att.net/~VancePat/ Genealogy Page: http://home.att.net/~genology/genelogy.htm Surnames: Douglas, Henry, Martin, Parnell, Raney, Ray, Summers, Tolliver, Vance

    3. It wasn´t me who asked originally, but I would be greatful if you could check for Shelton in Grainger or Claiborne Co. I am specifically looking for a Ralph Shelton who supposedly died in the early 1850´s, but would welcome all Sheltons listed. 1. [TNGRAING-L] Listowner's Reminder
    2. Betty Allen
    3. Hi, It has been brought to my attention that a lot of bickering/arguing has been taking place on the list. Please - if you have a problem with someone, keep it PRIVATE - DO NOT TAKE UP LIST SPACE! For the past month, I have spent 95% of my online time processing the error messages for this list, receiving more than 20 of them per day during the first week of January. These come from folks who have either full mailboxes or have left the list without unsubbing first. Since my online time is limited, I would rather read constructive e-mail than spending it deleting error messages for personal disagreements taking place on the list. This list is for sharing genealogy, not for settling disagreements between a minimal few. I hope everyone can understand that our primary goal here is to learn for about our ancestors -not criticize what is being done to further that goal. Thanks for listening, Betty b_allen1946@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Messenger. http://im.yahoo.com
