    3. Sharon, Would you check your Apprenticeships book and see if you can find anything on a Cyrus M. Wyrick being bound out to a family named J.C.Baker sometime around 1866-1870? Cyrus was the youngest child of Jeremiah Wyrick and Anna Coffman. Their other children, possibly 3 girls and 2 boys, were in another household. Thanks for any help. 3. Dear Sharon R., Nooooooooo! I am not sure of anything with this family. Old Ralph was a mysterious man, and Anna was somewhat younger than him when they married. They seem to have been a productive couple however, from at least the late 1820´s. Your theory should be checked out, and will be when I can find the time, but one problem with it is that there is no mention of Taylor children that I know of. If she had children with Mr. Taylor, then Ralph must have adopted them as there are only Sheltons mentioned in all the official documents and notarized testimony that I have seen. It is also possible that Anna and Mr. Taylor had no children. This presents a problem as Ralph and Anna have recorded and documented children as early as abt. 1826. These are Shelton children and mentioned several times in notarized statements. This would mean that she had children with a half Cherokee before, during and after she was married to Mr. Taylor. Your theory would also negate the reference to Anna Taylor being the sister of Joel Taylor, which I admit that I have not followed up as yet. What now? Keep digging, I guess. I learn a little more almost every day. 3. Dear Mickey, I am waiting eagerly for your books. In the meantime, I need to ask you if you have any info on a marriage between Ralph Shelton and Anna Taylor in Grainger Co? The WPA transcribed the records and show the date as 1838, but I have very good reasons, not the least of which is all the children born before 1838, to think that the actual date was 1828. If you don´t have these records, I thank you anyway for your time and effort. Regards, Duane Mills

    3. Another great and useful site! The first click or two AFTER the inital first page (which I think is really pretty) seems a little boring....BUT... then you get in to the site and realize how much useful information it carries for you. Most pages even have some sort of genealogy listing. * Official City Sites http://www.officialcitysites.org/ If you want information about local government services in your area, the official Web site of your city or town is often a great place to find it. This directory of city sites covers the United States and Canada as well as Australia, France, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

    3. This site came in on my Earthlink BB message today. I visited this URL and this is good stuff. I did however write to them and ask why there was not a list of the signers of these bills on most pages. Maybe if enough of us ask for the signitures, they will post them here also? Debbie * The Avalon Project http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/avalon.htm The Yale Law School provides this online archive of documents covering law, history, and diplomacy. You'll find everything from the Magna Carta to the Charter of the United Nations in this collection, which you can browse or search by keyword. The "Major Collections" link gives a good overview of the site's contents.
