This story might be of interest to someone researching the Puckette family. I have no further information about the Puckett family. To my knowledge the Pucketts are not a family that interconnects with one of my "major" family lines, i.e. Hastings, Holt, Hargrove, Dunnavant, Meadows. Alabama Courier, April 23, 1931, p.2 EPHESUS - The sad news reached Mr. George Puckette, of Carey, Sunday A. M. of the. passing of his son, Lofton who was post master of Elkton, Tenn.. Lofton took his brother, Granville's, supper to him about nine o'clock at the farm just out from Elkton. a the door awaking Granaville ,who had already retired, called twice, "who 's there?". No answer came back, he got his flash light and pistol shooting thro the key hole wounding his brother in the abdomen. They rushed the suffer to the Pulaski Hospital hours he passed but in two away. The shooting occured Saturday night about nine o'clock. His remains will be laid in the Elkton cemetery Monday. The entire family have sympathy of their many friends. Ruth Hasten Walosh
