Jerry, my husband is also a descendant of the Giles Co Rose families. I do not have info about AC Rose in particular...but you might explore the family of Francis M. Rose for a start. Francis was born in about 1772 in NC and died in Texas in 1855. Records indicate that he was married 3 times. His first wife is not known, and from census it is believed she was the mother of only one child: Cornelius Rose, born c1794-1800. He married c 1820 Elizabeth McCutcheon, and died sometime after 1861. Francis married #2 Elizabeth "Betty" CUtbirth, daughter of Daniel Boone Cutbirth and Elizabeth "Betsy" COleman. She was the mother of Elizabeth C (my husband's line) who married Vincent Carter; Benjamin B. (b 1804-1810) who married Mary Emeline Turnbow and removed to Little Rock, AR; Sabra (1809-1889) who m Chesley Turnbow and went to TX; William W born c 1810 who m Lucinda Hickman. Francis married #3 Sarah maiden unknown and had Jackson, Carroll, Mary and Henry M. Of these children, Sabra, Wm, and the last 4 went to TX. Elizabeth Carter went to IL. There are several records (deeds, court etc) for Francis in Giles and many records of his children. If you do not mind spending a little money (providing you are not able to go to Giles Courthouse yourself) I would suggest writing Clara Parker at the Old Records Dept of the Courthouse in Pulaski and asking her to look for AC Rose in the records. She is thorough and has sent me tons relevant things on my various Giles Co families. Each search costs about $25, and she has always sent me a ream of opies from the existing original records. The courthouse was hit severely by a cyclone in 1909 and many original records of all kinds were lost. Those that were salvaged, Clara Parker knowns.
