I'm wondering if our OLD David MINITREE might have come to middle Tennessee because of his familial relationship to Ann above. Do ANY of you know a particular reason that brought him to finally settle in Giles County except wanderlust? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Always plays a big part, thank goodness, or we would not be here! I've read and agree "Without my ancestors, I would be nothing." I assume when you shouted OLD David, you were referring to his age, and not a first name. Not sure if a nickname - lot of people capitalize names. I do not have any of the Minitrees you listed, but do a David Minitree. You gave no dates - everyone else may know who you are talking about, but I do not. My data: David Minitree B. abt 1785/1795 in TN, married an Elizabeth ?. Children are: William H. Minitree B. abt 1827 Tn Andrew Jackson Minitree B. 1828 and D. 1 Mar 1912 Dewitt G. Minitree B. 1829 Elizabeth Minitree B. abt 1834 George W. Minitree B. abt 1828/1836 Nancy Minitree B. abt 1836 David Minitree B. 1840 I have Minitree, Minatree and Minatra in this family line. Interesting you are looking for Minitree and spell your name Minatra, too. The Minatra's I knew lived in San Angelo, Tx in the 30's and 40's. My maternal grandmother was Sarah Josephine Minitree/Minatra. She married William Stephen Garrett. Connected to the Giles Tn list due to majority of Garretts came from Va. to Giles County, TN, etc. Write me if you care to discuss. If there is connection, I will exchange info with you, or anyone else. I am really surprised there is no activity on the Garrett list. I've found many Garrett files in the past. But not one message in a month. John Mikeska Sir John, Earl of Berkshire "What good is information if it is not shared with others?"
