Minetree September 1, 1995". This work is available in the Giles Historical Society's Minatra file at the library in Pulaski, TN. Some references to the Christian name "Martha" -- none the Martha we're looking for but interesting in light of family naming patterns: Page 4 John Minitree and Martha Denton were issued their license to be married on August 23, 1808 (Marriage Register 1784-1865, Clerk's Office, Hustings Count, Petersburg, Va.). Page 14 Martha Batte Minetree Fitts, born 1873, daughter of Joseph Powhatan Minetree (there's that swamp again) Page 15 Martha Fitts, born 1910, daughter of Martha Batte Minetree and Charles Freeman Fitts. (They also had daughters Josephine Minetree and Elizabeth Peabody.) Page 22 Martha Parish, born 1942, daughter of James lawrence Minetree, JR and Rhoda Blossom. THE SAME CHRISTIAN NAMES REPEAT THROUGHOUT THE MINETREE FAMILY, BUT THESE DON'T APPEAR TO BE OUR ELUSIVE MARTHA. DO YOU KNOW that Louise Warner Minetree, born Washington, D.C. 29 Jan 1907 married Charles Venable Minor, a son of Raleigh ColsTon and Natalie (nee Venable) Minor? This noted on page 22 of the above. And noted on page 28 in Generation V, other Colston names are John Colston Sinclair b. 1961 and Susan Colston Cobb b. 1964. Someone out there has your Martha. AND Re John Mikeska's list of children above, I have information that I believe came from someone's family history database. My copy came from the Old Records at the Giles County Courthouse in Pulaski, TN. It begins with a statement on 'The Minatra Family'...in part..."CARTER'S GROVE PLANTATION, A History by Mary A. Stephenson, prepared for SEALANTIC FUND INCORPORATED by Research Department, Colonial Williamsburg, Williamsburg, Virginia..." listing other children of David MINATRA born 1796 and Elizabeth ? born 1803: Elvira - NO BIRTH DATE Josephine - NO BIRTH DATE Mary - NO BIRTH DATE Could there be a Martha? No Dewitt G. is named, but I've seen it in other papers Let's keep in touch. Julia SAVAGE MINATRA Rutherford County TN
