Good afternoon list on this happy raining July 3rd. Myself and another, Lynn Roebuck at pretzlgirl@cafes.net are researching Civil War Saltpeter caves and miners in the middle Tennessee area. We certainly would appreciate information to add to our small data relative to any saltpeter caves and or known miners. Our data base which is just a bunch of references scattered all over in two houses is growing slowly but surely. Throughout genealogy references, should you run across any, we certainly would appreciate them especially from the Bedford, Marshall, Giles, Hickman and Maury County areas. Often when visiting these caves we locate names and dates smoked onto the walls and ceilings. Many times, this is the only references we have to go on. One would be amazed at what we find in caves.
