Howdy, Thank you Mr. Davis for transcribing the Puncheon Camp Church minutes. I'm looking forward to them being place on the Giles county website. I'm hoping you have information on my G-G-G-Grandfather, Benjamine Jefferson LEE. I was told that he was a preacher or elder in that church. I saw in the Goodspeed's history, on the web page, that Puncheon Camp was a "Hard-Shell" Baptist Church. I didn't really know what that meant until recently when a cousin, who is a Missionary Baptist preacher, told me. >From what I understand, the "hard-shell" Baptists are what is officially called the Primitive Baptists. They got the knickname "hard-shell" from others, particularly the Missionary Baptists. My grandmother was a Primitive Baptist and her fater was a preacher in the church.
